The PDC will be rescheduled, if possible. The Student Leadership Conference is cancelled. The disease is progressing exponentially, in ten days we may very well find ourselves in situation similar to Italy’s. The containment strategy has failed and now we must go to mitigation techniques which include hand washing, teleworking, social distancing and canceling gatherings of large groups of people. As Environmental Health and Safety Professionals we must play our part in the national effort to limit the spread of the Covid19 virus. Safety Professionals should focus on limiting the exposure of vulnerable populations, including persons over sixty years old, are pregnant or having an underlying health condition. Your organizations need to identify which of its activities are considered essential and then how these essential activities will be managed with limited staffing or teleworking. We can and will get through this! I will distribute a power presentation I have prepared which is suitable for briefing your executive team.
